- Brokos VTAC Belt
Sunday, 26 July 2015
Having lived a year and so with my Brokos VTAC belt from 5.11 I decided to do a quick review on this awesome piece of equipment. The first thing someone will notice is the excellent quality, of the materials used and the stitching. The inner side of the belt is aerospace mesh to help the breathing let and the moisture escape.
Weighted at 226 grams and constructed of 500D cordura is sure that it can withstand any load you might attach for as long as it takes. It has the standard issue molle webbing in order to accept all molle equipment. Also on every 7cm (3inch) across the molle the belt has belt weaving slots which help the user to modify it to its needs.
The second thing someone will notice as soon as he puts it on is the rigidity of the belt, you instantly feel that it grabs you and that it locks on that position. And it won't move. No matter what! Mine has undergo couple of setups with the current consisting of a custom kydex holster for my Glock17, two double decker taco pouches, a medic and a dump pouch.
Another thing someone must pay attention to is that no matter how good the battle belt is by itself, a cheap or improper use of the inner belt will result in a loosely fit and it will cause the belt to move out of place. So the inner belt must be as good as the battle belt itself, for that reason I have chosen the cobra belt by 5.11.
Also another detail I have added is a small piece of plexiglass on the inside which added a lot more on the grip and the regidity.
Αs i said in the beginning, this year I have spend with my BROKOS it has undergo a lot of usage from simple running all day long war games, to all day training courses, all day milsim games, it has been my primary load for two times I had served as a sniper, it has even been draged along me on a road full of debris etc for the purposes of a photograph shooting. And it has proven itself each and every time.
Concluding this post I would like to welcome you all in this new blog of mine, it is the first attempt for something like this from me so I hope you like and enjoy all of my reviews posts etc. Any feedback and opinions are welcomed!
My name is Tomas aka DUSTY and I'm an airsoft player from Greece.
Welcome aboard everyone
